As safety is our first concern we recommend wearing boots with at least a 1 inch heel, jeans and/or breeches. No baggy clothing as it may act as a distraction to horses and other riders. If you have a helmet please bring it with you. For those who do not have their own helmet we are able to provide you with a helmet. Gloves are recommended as the weather gets colder but are optional.
J&S Family Ranch hosts a 120'x65' insulated indoor arena. Lessons are help 7 days a week year round. If your instructor feels that the weather is not right they will inform you by phone to cancel and rescedule your lesson.
We recommend you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your lesson. We ask that all students learn and participate in the grooming and tacking process of their assigned horse. Instructors will monitor this task and be able to assist if necessary. We ask that you arrive early and are ready to go at your scheduled lesson time so that the instructor can give you the most out of your time.
